Clinical Trial ( IRB ) #: 07-155-2
Title: Vocational Outcomes for Troubled Youth with Substance Abuse Problems and High HIV Risk (MST-CRAFT Vocational Outcomes Study)
Principal Investigator: Dr. Julian Ford
Description: The proposed study aims to test a promising strategy for improving vocational and employment outcomes for adolescents with or at risk for identified substance use problems, Project CRAFT (Community Restitution Apprenticeship-Focused Training). All of the 120 participating 15-18 year old youths and their families will receive an evidence-based intervention, Multisystemic Therapy (MST), and half of the participants be randomly chosen to also receive CRAFT. The validation of a well-articulated employment skills training and job placement service delivered in real world settings has the potential of contributing substantially to the public good.
